Welcome to the Binn Eco Park

The Binn Eco Park is situated in Glenfarg in the picturesque area of Perthshire and Kinross. With motorway access close by, the site is only 35 miles from the centre of Stirling, 40 miles from Edinburgh, 60 miles from Glasgow and 85 miles from Aberdeen. Both port and rail freight facilities are available in Perth. The Binn Eco Park, established in April 2009 is the first eco-innovation park of its kind to be established in Scotland. The eco park is based on three major industries:

  • waste resource management and remanufacturing from recovered materials
  • renewable energy production
  • food production

Situated on a large, well established, integrated waste resource management facility the waste and resource focus is on the production of raw materials from waste and the remanufacturing of products from recovered materials. The site will also be a renewable energy centre that will produce energy from a range of sustainable technologies including gasification, anaerobic digestion, micro hydro and third generation bio-fuels that do not involve taking agricultural land out of food production. The waste heat from each of these processes will provide heating to each of the businesses on the park as well as enabling the creation of controlled environments for local food production and other plant based industries.

By developing an innovative, creative and supportive environment we offer an ideal location for businesses with the vision and energy to contribute long term environmental, economic and social benefits to the Tayside and wider Scottish economy.
